Central Coast Heart Community Launch
Central Coast Heart Community
On Wednesday, 9th October, we proudly launched the Central Coast Heart Community, a network that brings together individuals from all walks of life to share their experiences and support those living with, and impacted by incurable diseases.
The event was a celebration of resilience, compassion, and the power of community, as participants shared their inspiring stories of overcoming adversity and supporting one another. This event marks the beginning of a network where every individual can find understanding, strength, and encouragement on their journey.
A special thank you to Penny Owens, Acting Nurse Manager at Gosford Hospital, who shared the profound and positive impact that the Special Bear Friend Initiative is having on the hospital's staff, children, and their families. These bears, created with love and care, have brought comfort and joy to many, fostering a sense of hope in the midst of challenging times. The stories of the children’s smiles and the emotional support these bears offer deeply touched all in attendance.
We were also honoured to hear from Maria, a Heart Mum, who bravely shared her journey of navigating the many challenges of supporting her heart warrior son, Noah, through his heroic heart journey. Her words were a reminder of the strength that comes from love and community. The event took a heartwarming turn with a surprise visit from Wonder Bear, lifting the spirits of attendees, and symbolising the courage and hope that this community embodies. Lastly, a heartfelt thanks to Lee Toomey, from Business NSW, for representing the business community on the Central Coast. Lee’s presence reinforced the importance of partnerships and collaboration in supporting this meaningful initiative. Together, we are building a community that brings purpose, connection, and hope to all those who need it most.
With the event's success and popular demand, we will continue to hold events around Sydney to ensure more people and businesses can benefit. These events will provide opportunities for individuals to connect on a personal and professional level, sharing stories and experiences of adversity and resilience.
