Children In Hospital Receive Bears

Bears Arrive Home!⭐️🧸💙

We are filled with so much love and gratitude today, as we received thank you photos and messages from kids and their loved ones who have received Special Bear Friends🧸

I was fortunate enough to speak with two of the families, who shared their children’s heart story and sent their deepest gratitude to all the sponsors and our team for the love and happiness the bears brought to their children.

💙 Warrior Kayce was given his Super Spider bear on arrival after being emergency airlifted to Sydney Westmead Children’s hospital. His family was unable to bring anything with them, so they were over the moon when they received a bear companion that will stay with Kayce throughout his treatment and beyond. 💙 Warrior Shelby received ‘Super bear Bradley’ moments after his heart surgery and has not let it leave his side. Shelby’s family shared that they were 6 hours away from home whilst staying at Westmead, and “receiving this little fellow definitely brightened Shelby’s day.” (Shared by Mother of Heart Warrior Shelby)

It is through these heart felt stories that my team and I are reminded that these bears are a symbol of love, connection and hope for these children and their loved ones. When a child receives a bear companion, it becomes their most trusted companion as they undergo treatment. The child feels an overwhelming sense of security, which lessens their trauma experienced in hospital and beyond. ⭐️

Parents and loved ones are also filled with gratitude and hope, as they can see how happy and safe their child is with their special bear. Adults also become emotionally attached to this bear, as it becomes their own symbol of hope and reassurance that they are not alone. This journey that parents and loved ones go through is one of pain and many feel alone. Sponsoring a bear is a way that as a wider community we can stay connected to these more vulnerable communities and bring them joy and happiness during these challenging times. 🧸

Today we have seen the reassurance and happiness that these bears bring to the children and their families, and we, Business with A Heart, are grateful to be part of this incredible journey. We are also so thankful to our many sponsors who continue to make an incredible difference in the lives of these vulnerable communities. 💙
